This lip oil is exactly what I was wanting. It's a sheer black, so if you have pigmented lips it may peek through a bit, but it's a beautiful color. Can be worn on it's own, with a lip liner, or any other way you want. The scent is a ginger, herbal smell. It's strong smelling on the doe foot but fades after a few minutes of wear. Great for the days where I don't want a saturated black lip but still want something edgy. The formula is very smooth and not sticky. Thinner formula but plenty of cushion and hydration on the lips. Wears evenly and you can still feel the hydrating residue after the color is gone. I bought Black Thorn and Dark Thorn, and I love them both! As someone with chronically dry lips the dark pigment does settle a tiny bit into my lip lines, but I find most products do that anyway. Lovely product, perfect for fall!

OMG, I have this lip oil in so many colors, but Black Thorn gets me the most compliments HANDS DOWN. It's sheer, but still shows up as a soft, smoky grey. It's not streaky and doesn't fade in a weird way at all. It's my ideal black lip, because I can comfortable add a full coverage lipstick under it if I'd like to go full goth, or I can just wear it as is if I'm feeling a little soft goth.

I love the way it looks on me! I love the way the gloss wears, it leaves a black tint on your lips as the gloss disappears, that comes off easily with a wipe (no staining). BUT I don't think the description of this product accurately portrays how it feels on the lips. there is definitely a peppermint-y scent and tightening feeling when you put it on, it's VERY subtle, and wears off after a few minutes. I usually avoid peppermint flavored lip products but this doesn't bother me.

I purchased this product after reviewing the images and even expecting it to not turn out exactly as the photos but not only is this incredibly sheer it also doesn't build well or play nicely with other products (I tried a range). I'd post photos of the results but they're so unflattering I cannot subject myself to doing so. I would chalk it up to user error since so many people seem to like it and it claims to have won an award but I tried every which way to make this work and it simply does not. Also my lips are sticky despite the claims, and my lower lip is also burning. Won't purchase this again and would NOT recommend.
