If the active ingredient was developed specifically for the under-eye, can I use Soft Sorcery Concealer on every part of my face?
Yes, you absolutely should! Soft Sorcery Weightless Serum Concealer provides beautiful coverage on the full face. Deinoxanthin clinical testing was conducted specifically on the delicate, sensitive under-eye area with wonderful results, demonstrating that it improves the appearance of the skin while being remarkably gentle and nonirritating. What are Quaternium-90 Sepiolite and Quaternium-90 Montmorillonite? Are these “quats” like Quaternium-15?
Short answer: no. These are not the “quats” people worry about in cosmetics. Those are formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, while ours are formula-enhancing clays.
Why the confusion?
All these names sound similar, but they are very different compounds. The “Quaternium” part just means they have four organic groups attached to a nitrogen atom.
What is the difference?
- Quaternium-15: A preservative that releases formaldehyde. It can cause allergies and irritation. We do not use it.
- Our Quaternium-90 Sepiolite and Montmorillonite clays: Clays that improve texture, pigment, application and wear in makeup.
These clays are safe and beneficial. They make makeup smoother, last longer, and feel better.
Does this concealer formula contain a preservative?
Yes! Effective preservative systems are an essential part of formulating safe cosmetics. For this formula, we have used an advanced paraben- and phenoxyethanol-free preservative composed of caprylhydroxamic acid, 1,2-hexanediol, and propanediol. It is biodegradable and made from 66% USDA certified biobased content, while effectively controlling bacteria, yeast and mold.
