The Color: Soft black with metallic sheen. Tendrils of blue-black smoke. An essential shade transformed.

How to Wear: Apply with The Eye Soot Brush or fingertips. Works beautifully as both an eyeshadow and a soft, smoky eyeliner.

The Result: A multidimensional one-and-done shade that can be diffused out to a soft wash, or built up for bold color.

The Formula: Ash and Ember Eye Soot is one of our most magical creations: intense, smoldering, everlasting color with a rich texture between powder and cream. Each shade offers incredible complexity; you can create a whole eye look with just one jar.

Obsidian is a vegan color.

    Velvety Raven Black

I agree with the reviewer below that said Obsidian is better than black. While this shade essentially is black at first glance it has an extra magical dimension to it that requires a double-take. It's like the subtle blue-black sheen of a ravens wing catching the light.I also think the name Obsidian is very fitting when it is sheered out. When sheered it turns into a hazy smoky wash of colour which reminds me of the translucency of the obsidian volcanic glass rock which has always captivated me! The texture is velvety and wear time is great, set it with a little translucent powder or a setting spray for an even longer wear time. I love this one and you really need to see it in person! >3

The only "black" eyeshadow I like

It's got so much depth to it, you can't just call it black. You can blend it and build it up endlessly to achieve whatever amount of smokiness you want. It's also a great shade to blend with others if you need to create your own transition shade for the crease or whatnot. I like it best paired with bold colorful looks like teal or electric blue.

    Beautiful color and formula

I love the colors in this line and working with them feels more like art supplies or potions instead of makeup. The packaging is so unique and looks beautiful displayed if that’s your thing.

    Dark Grey Black

This eye soot looks black in the pot, but in the sunlight has a blue hue that distinguishes it from other black shadows. It can be sheered out or built up and looks good as a base under other shadows.
