The Black Orb - Rituel de Fille

The Black Orb Enigmatic Kohl Eyeliner casts the deepest shadows, and smokes out into the darkest gaze. This cruelty-free formula is richly pigmented, deep, moody, and dramatic, and can be worn in a wide range of applications. Its mysterious jar invites creativity and allows for greater flexibility in application styles and techniques versus a pencil eyeliner. If you have searched as we did for the perfect inky, moody, dramatic kohl eyeliner, this may move you as much as it does us.

HOW TO APPLY

The Black Orb Enigmatic Kohl Eyeliner is neither gel nor powder, and its crème formula behaves with different properties. We recommend using your favorite brushes for application. For a winged eyeliner look, or a soft cat eye, we recommend an angled liner brush. To create a lived-in smoky look, apply with a smudge brush and diffuse out with a soft-bristled shadow brush like The Eye Soot Brush. With just a bit of practice, it can also be applied with fingertips for a smudgy, smoky and perfectly imprecise application.

The Black Orb is formulated to set without a harsh dry down. To best allow the film former to work its magic, we recommend applying in thin layers to allow the product to set, rather than doing a heavy single application. However, The Black Orb remains workable, which allows for a more forgiving application. The nonvolatile formula also ensures gentle wear on the delicate skin around your eyes. If you have hooded or extremely oily lids, you may wish to dust a layer of translucent powder on top after application to lock it in further.

    *Update to my last review

I’ve found that with a generous eye primer before and careful setting, this soot has become one of my favorite eye paint-type products. Albeit not transfer proof on its own, the formula worth taking the extra steps; it’s much nicer to work with than many others I’ve tried in my years of being an eyeliner fiend. 🖤

    Sensitive Eye Friendly

The formula of these are gentle on sensitive eyes. I do find with my hooded eyes these can transfer and fade throughout the day. I tend to use this as a cream shadow and base for a smoky eye and set with powder to get more longevity. Please release a deep green and mustard shade.

    Good stuff

As per usual with RDF, beautiful creamy formula. It is so rich and pigmented! I love the to e of this grey. It's definitely grey but has the most beautiful touch of dark blue to make it kinda bluey-grey, but still id def call it grey. It's a fun one if you have grey eyes, this is darker than my eyes so it makes my grey eyes a lighter shade of grey, almost translucent. Very fun to experiment with. It creates a Beautiful and easy cateye w an angled liner brush. Sheers out and blends beautifully as well. I just read someone who tried it in their lips, whoever that was, thank you for the inspiration! I'm trying that next!My eyes have become slightly hooded, prob just from getting older, and do tend to be in the oily side, RDF left some tips here in the comments on this, to use an eye primer and setting powder before and after the eyeliner. I feel like this helps Immensely to achieve a bit if longevity if you have these issues. Works great if ya implement these ideas, or at least it did fir me personally. Love it. It's beautiful. If you're interested, I recommend!

    On lips

Tried this on lips. Cannot believe i did not think if it before. Works well enough and feels pretty good going on. Works well as intended eye liner and shadow of course. Fascinating color that looks fierce and cementy.
