How To Apply
With The Eye Soot Brush or fingertips, press and swirl in the jar. With its remarkable dimensionality, each shade can easily apply as a one-and-done color. We also love starting with a lighter shade all over the lid, and blending a liner shade into the lash line.
Eye Soots are a true all-in-one eye product. If you are new to the world of Rituel de Fille, we suggest you try application on bare skin first to get a feel for how your colors will apply and wear on you.
Whether or not to use an additional primer is ultimately a matter of preference and individual needs. If you have extremely oily lids and have trouble keeping any product in place, you may want to apply a base layer of your favorite primer before applying your Eye Soot. If you do choose to use an additional primer: we have found that particularly dry primer formulas can cause some skipping upon initial application of Eye Soots, but this can be easily blended out with a brush or fingertip.
We do not recommend oil-based primers that do not dry down, or concealers used as a primer, as they may break down the product and significantly reduce wear time.
Ash and Ember Eye Soot
This is one of our most magical creations: intense, smoldering, everlasting color with a rich texture between powder and cream.
Each shade offers incredible complexity; you can create a whole eye look with just one jar.
We formulate Ash and Ember Eye Soot by hand with pure pigments and oils—without any waxes, so it will never melt with the warmth of your skin. This is a truly artisanal formula that has inspired a cult following, and is a favorite among professional makeup artists.
Our Custom Jar
Fully custom packaging is very rare, and something that few get to experience creating. It has been a complex, intricate and exciting process to develop something that is completely our own for the first time.
There is so much to love about the classic Ash and Ember Eye Soot jar: its distinctive shape, its potion bottle-meets-inkwell aesthetic, the way it beautifully refracts the light. A collection of these glimmering hexagonal jars neatly grouped together still gives us an oddly satisfying thrill.
When we created Ash and Ember Eye Soot, that was our perfect vessel. The only way to improve it was to do it ourselves. After listening closely to your feedback, and taking matters into our own hands, now we have something even better: easier to use, more sustainable, all with the unique magic of the original and more.
For the custom base, we were able to create a wider opening for easier fingertip application using molded glass. A wider, lower overall profile makes this jar even more comfortable to hold and use.
The custom lid is now made from 50% post-consumer recycled plastic, and also has a thicker brim and easier grip for improved accessibility. We made the lid even more secure for safekeeping in your makeup bag. For a little aesthetic detail, the inner lining is now black too.
