A Muted, Fleshy Mauve
A dense fog obscures the frozen landscape, revealing glimpses of the surroundings with each breath of the cold wind. Each slow, cloudy exhale dissipates into the surrounding whiteness. Footfalls on icy pine needles sound nearby with delicate shatters. Heart rate quickens. Muscles tense. Lips pull back to reveal sharp teeth. The predator advances, powdery snow shifting underfoot with each silent step.

I originally got a sample size of Prey before committing to a full size because I was curious how this would look and after trying it I had to get a full size. The formula is really nice, it applies very evenly and its comfortable on the lips, it does transfer but its a creamy formula so I was expecting that. The color though is such a surprise, its an extremely muted rose, its almost grey, but it doesn't wash me out or look unnatural at all (for reference I have cool undertones). I was expecting this to be a more unusual or grungy lip color but it actually works well as an everyday nude, at least with my makeup style.

Prey is a beautiful grungy mauve cool tone lipstick that I love!! Builds up nicely or is a great sheer color for a natural lip shade. Also nice to apply with your fingers for a wash of color. My favorite RdF lipstick so far!

I love this shade so much. I keep rebuying it. It's such a fun neutral, with a touch of pink, purple, and grey. I am such a big fan of an understated lip, and this gets comments from others all the time. It doesn't dry out my lips despite its nice matte appearance.

I was looking for a lighter version of Conjurer for time when I want a more subtle look. While this color is definitely more neutral, I find myself reaching for Carnal more often. I may try layering with a lip oil to bring more warmth into the color.
