When should I apply Creature of Light?
If wearing as a primer, or without other makeup, use Creature of Light after your skincare and SPF. If wearing as a complexion topper, apply after your foundation and/or concealer.
Does Creature of Light dry down?
Creature of Light is a water-based product that will gently set without drying the skin.
Is Creature of Light a highlighter?
While we welcome you to experiment with our products, Creature of Light is formulated to be worn on the full face, neck, and décolletage. The iridescent pigments are finely milled with ethereal translucency, so the effect is subtle yet transformative. This recommended full-face application will also add luminosity to the high points of your face, while also creating a soft inner glow everywhere.
Is Creature of Light glittery?
Absolutely not. Creature of Light is formulated with extremely finely-milled iridescent pigments. If holding the bottle in direct sunlight you may notice some glimmer in the bottle, but on the face the effect is all-over luminosity.
What creates the subtle lifting and smoothing effect in Creature of Light?
The carageenans from elkhorn sea moss create a gentle, subtle lifting and smoothing effect after application.
I tried the 2022 preview of Creature of Light. How is this different?
If you loved the preview release of Creature of Light, we cannot wait for you to experience the final formula–we have made it even better. Beyond the beautiful new packaging–which is 50 ml rather than the original, more standard 30 ml–we have improved wear and application with small upgrades to the formula.
Creature of Light now has a creamier application texture, and applies and wears even better whether you are using it over makeup, under makeup or just on top of your skincare.
Comparing the shades between the two releases:
- Moonlit Creature uses the exact same pigment blend as Opalescent Creature.
- Angelic Creature is an entirely new shade, never seen before the final launch.
- Glowing Creature uses a similar pigment blend to Lustrous Creature, but it is not identical. While it imparts the same level of luminosity, it is slightly more translucent and slightly more neutral-toned, making it work for even more complexions.
Divine Creature uses a similar pigment blend to Brilliant Creature. The shade is the same, but we were able to make improvements to application with some minor modifications.
