FYI I have light neutral olive skin. These 2 are gorgeous worn together or separately. They can both be worn sheer or built up. Black Locust can be built up more with its thicker formula. Many lip oils tend to dry out my lips, but Black Thorn is incredibly soft and cushiony. Also, many black lip products seem purple or red on me. Both Black Locust & Black Thorn look true soft black on me which is what I was looking for!

As I've rediscovered my love for all things deep toned make-up I began my hunt for a low maintenance dark lip. Both of these products fulfill that need in different ways. The Black Thorn Lip Oil offers all day moisture and a build able depth of color while Black Locust offers a less present but equally stunning effect as it cools and darks my natural lip color to a shadowy lavender under a light application.

The shades of these are perfect true blacks. Not purple or red, actual true black. The formulas are soft and hydrating, my only bug bear is the scent of the lip oil is not my taste. For the colour payoff and formula though I can get over it. Though if it’s ever reformulated, please change the lip oil scent.

I heard great things about this dynamic duo, and wanted to add some goth to my makeup collection. This was perfect! Love both formulas, I know some feel the sheer lipstick formula is too dry but I find it adds staying power through the day. The gloss with the lipstick is amazing and I find I can use these two to make all sorts of lip combos. Love it!

Black Locust is my new everyday lip, it’s perfect for my olive undertones that turn everything peach I always get compliments when I wear it. The lip oil is the perfect flush of grey but can be built up for a more dramatic color, and extremely sensory friendly and not sticky AT ALL.
