➕ If I place an order during this Lab Access Release, when will it ship?
Due to production constraints on Lab Access Release formulas, we manufacture these special products after the event ends so that we can allocate limited ingredients based on demand. If your order contains a combination of Lab Access Release formulas and other products, everything will ship together once the Lab Access Release items are ready. Please expect this to take a little longer to receive than a normal Rituel de Fille order.
➕ How long will this limited event last?
We never know for sure; community interest in the product is one of the many things we will learn. However, due to limited quantities, they usually only last between a few hours and a few days.
➕ How is Light as a Feather Lipstick similar to Forbidden Lipstick (or Enchanted Lip Sheer)?
The list is short:
- All three formulas are truly unique to us.
- All three formulas were developed in-house, by hand, by Rituel de Fille.
- All three formulas are bullet-format lipsticks.
- Only for the Lab Access Release: Light as a Feather Lipstick will come packaged in the same component we use for Forbidden and Enchanted Lip Sheer.
➕ How is Light as a Feather Lipstick different from Forbidden Lipstick (or Enchanted Lip Sheer)?
This is where it gets fun. Light as a Feather Lipstick is a completely new experience of lip color: the application, finish, wear-down, and even the sensory experience are all from a separate universe.
We adore both of our generations of lipstick. Here are just some of the things that set apart Light as a Feather™:
Light as a Feather Lipstick melts onto the lips with zero drag, with a silk-like glide. It weightlessly holds with a soft and subtly diffused effect. Yet the texture feels cushiony, airy, truly velvety, without even the subtle tack of a balm-like formula. And remarkably, it wears down like a stain—gradually, evenly, and beautifully.
By comparison, Forbidden Lipstick and Enchanted Lip Sheer are formulated like luxuriously creamy balms. They are made with a base of emollient oils, and supported by waxes including beeswax, carnauba wax and candelilla wax, and are slightly less matte. They are the formulas that started all that is Rituel de Fille.
➕ Does Light as a Feather Lipstick have a scent?
For the Lab Access Release, we are offering Light as a Feather Lipstick fragrance-free, without any added aromatic compounds or essential oils. Depending on your Lab Notes Survey responses, this may change in a number of ways in the future, so be sure to share your experiences!
➕ Why is the Light as a Feather Lipstick Lab Access Release offered in existing shades from the Enchanted Lip Sheer and Forbidden Lipstick product lines?
It’s important to us that we hear your voice through this process. To that end, the shade selection for this Lab Access Release started with one major consideration: we wanted to control the variables. The 6 shades we selected are some of our long-term bestsellers, and absolute Rituelist favorites—which seemed like the best way to understand how you feel about this new formula, rather than pulling attention to new shades at this stage.
➕ Will Light as a Feather launch with these 6 shades?
We stand at a crossroads, and the future is not yet fixed. The insights, opinions and desires that you and fellow Rituelists share from your experience with this new formula will fundamentally guide us.
➕ Are Enchanted Lip Sheer or Forbidden Lipstick getting discontinued?!
We do not have any current plans to discontinue either one!

➕ What is a Lab Access Release?
When a new Rituel de Fille formula reaches a state that we absolutely love, we move to the most important step: a Lab Access Release. These limited events are held exclusively through our website, ritueldefille.com. In them, we make this new formula available to own, and invite our customers to shape its future.
We are fortunate to have an extraordinarily brilliant and unique community, and we developed this process to ensure that our launches are specifically serving you. Because we are among the very few makeup brands who formulate and hand-craft our products ourselves, we have the chance to truly listen.
A Lab Access Release is a finished product and formula, but not a finalized one. It will come in real, compatible and appropriate packaging for the formula—but generally, not the one that the final launch will come in. This will generally mean a stock component, undecorated except for labeling, and something that we are able to source in small quantities.
➕ Why does Rituel de Fille hold Lab Access Release events?
As a small, independent brand, we have been blessed with a truly iconoclastic community. We are deeply devoted to you, and want to create things that are as meaningful to you as they are to us.
When we first launched, our friends were our very first customers—and our most important product experts. Lab Access Releases have been a natural outgrowth of developing our products with vulnerability, humility and trust.
➕ Are Lab Access Release formulas rejects from other labs/brands?
No.
➕ Where do Lab Access Release formulas come from?
Every Lab Access Release formula is developed within Rituel de Fille, with our own hands. We do not buy these formulas from third parties.
➕ Is a Lab Access Release a gimmick product?
No, Lab Access Release products are formulas that we have developed carefully, ourselves, with our own hands, and that we feel extraordinarily excited to share with you. This is with the hope and intention of perfecting a meaningful final launch.
➕ Is a Lab Access Release a focus group?
No. A Lab Access Release is a limited product release event, held exclusively through our website. We make a product and formula that we love available for you to own, and invite you to shape its future.
➕ Are Lab Access Releases used to collect and sell data to other beauty brands?
Absolutely not. Lab Access Releases, and the responses to Lab Notes Surveys, exist for the purpose of better serving our community. They are connecting, personally meaningful to us, and something we approach with a great deal of reverence.

➕ What is a Lab Notes Survey?
This is the heart of the Lab Access Release process—and how we ensure our launches mean as much to our community as they do to us. The Lab Notes Survey is what takes Lab Access Release events beyond merely sharing a beloved new formula; rather than just assuming we know exactly what’s important to you, we humbly ask.
These surveys are substantive, meaningful, and deeply significant spaces to cast your deepest desires. We will ask structured questions, but at the core, we want to know what matters to you, what you wish most deeply for, and how we can create something that truly inspires you.
➕ When and how will I receive the Lab Notes Survey?
Within a short period after your order ships—usually a week or two—we will send an email containing a link. Though we attempt to send these messages to every participant, we strongly recommend subscribing to our email list to make sure we can get it to you. Additionally, most Lab Access Release exterior packaging will include a QR code that links to the survey. If you would like to access through this method rather than waiting for the email, just make sure to hang onto this packaging until you have experienced the formula.
➕ How are my responses to the Lab Notes Survey used?
The Lab Notes Survey is reviewed internally, for the purpose of making sure we are serving our community as well as possible with our launches. We read responses carefully, and listen closely when making decisions about what comes next. For these limited events, we offer Lab Access Releases at special prices, which are significantly discounted from what we anticipate the MSRP of the final launch product to be. We make our absolute best effort to estimate this accurately, but due to changes between the Lab Access Release and a final launch, the expected MSRP may differ from the actual MSRP.
