Bloodroot: Worn sheer, this blood orange lipstick shade imparts a vibrant amber. With bolder application, it shifts to a powerful blood orange, with alluring translucence and depth.
Fleur Sauvage: The color of Bloodroot is drawn from the pigment of the achiote tree, whose heart-shaped pods contain small seeds coated in deep red-orange powder. This dye has been used as body paint by indigenous peoples of the rainforest, and was a substitute for human blood in Mayan and Aztec ceremony.
This red orange lip color is part of Fleur Sauvage: colors inspired by lush overgrowth, the deadly allure of carnivorous plants, and the strange chromatic language whispered between flowers and pollinators.

as much as i love the brand, i have to issue a warning: the promo pictures are from the original drop. this was one of my favourite lip products when it came out, as it truly had no dupe. i bought another quite a bit later, and there is so much pink tinge to it that there's no way it's the original formula. it's a pretty shade, but for me it was a massive disappointment. hopefully others will have better luck 🍀 and sorry, rdf, i truly didn't want to ever drag one of your products... everything else is stellar ✨

I was OBSESSED with how this shade looked online because it appears quite orange.
When swatched on my hand, or on a white page in my swatch book it is quite true to colour but on my lips it pulls more true red.
I have quite naturally pigmented lips and due to how beautifully sheer this is it really does impact the colour.

For a lip sheer, the coverage of Bloodroot is insane! The color is vivid but somehow natural at the same time, and it doesn't lean too warm on light neutral/rosy skin. It applies evenly and has just the right amount of moisture to prevent patchiness. I don't have to be super careful applying this shade either. On days I'm dressed like a goblin and don't have any other product on my face, I can slap this on and look like I have my ish together.
