I was on the hunt for a grey taupe and this one hit the mark. It’s such a flattering shade that in other formulas doesn’t work but here it’s so beautiful. I don’t need any other colors with it.

I got this and serpent de mer at the same time. I am always a bit on edge when I see a product that is gray with gold in it because it always looks like mud. Cultist doesn't look like that. In fact it looks more like a worn pewter that makes it easy to smoke out. The fact it has no fall out makes it an easy win for my makeup collection.

I have never been able to pull off a full eyelid of black. Much as I want to try. Cultist though? I got a sample ages ago. LOVED it. Stalked the Rituel de Fille website weekly waiting for it to appear again. FINALLY it was back in stock. And now I can live my dreams of having an edgy all over lid with the wonderful Eye Soot shadows. This shimmery taupey gunmetal is so much more flattering on my neutral skin than a solid black when it comes to applying a product with a heavy hand.
