The Rare Light Crème Luminizer in Ghost Light is my go-to, when it comes to cream highlighter. On my extremely cool-toned complexion, the lilac hue goes with everything.

About the lilac hue:

This slightly lilac highlighter in itself is lovely and cool-toned. It looks inconspicuous by itself on a cool-toned complexion and blends seamlessly with a cool-pink/lilac and purple blushes. Yet it has enough lilac to tone down and neutralize the warmth in many blushes that claim to be neutral but, in reality, pull warm on my extremely cool-toned complexion.

Formula:

I love the non-sticky, non-fussy formula of this cream highlighter. It doesn't leave my skin sticky. It is quite impossible to make this product look cakey. The non-glittery, sophisticated finish looks like the luminosity is coming from within and the effect lasts on skin for hours. In addition, top-ups are easy because the product won't remove itself nor the layers of makeup beneath it.

Application:

This highlighter can be applied with a dense brush for a more subdued look or a damp beautyblender for more luminosity. As a general rule, I avoid applying this highlighter with fingers due to the natural oils of the skin, but you can still apply it relatively effectively with fingers, too. Personally, I only use my fingers for application if putting on just a hint and/or doing a very specific placement on a small area or for patch-correcting - that's where finger application does shine (pun intended).
