Rituel de Fille is a small, entirely independent beauty brand. We develop our products in-house from the ground up, and we approach our formulation like potion-making. Each carefully-selected element is included with intention and purpose. The result is an experience unlike any other: intuitive application, opulent pigmentation, nuanced colors, and lush textures—in formulas that hold a truly unique magic unlike anything else.

We are passionate in our work, and approach our development from a place of deep devotion. What we make is unusual, specific, niche, and we believe genuinely special—we want to create something new in the world. While making genuinely excellent formulas is a baseline, we also have a deep reverence for the intimate, personal and deeply emotional power of makeup.
History and Alchemy
Rituel de Fille is based in Los Angeles, and was created by sisters Caroline and Katherine Ramos. The brand first launched in 2014, but the two had been working many years, into many late nights, long before the launch to create something that didn’t yet exist.
While living at the time on opposite sides of the country, working out of their small kitchens, they developed the first iterations of their first lipstick formula around 2009: an impossibly rich red lipstick using only natural carmine. After their childhood in San Diego, where carmine scatters wild across cactuses, their fascination with this uniquely beautiful, historically significant pigment sparked far-reaching curiosity and experimentation.
This very first lipstick color became the foundation for the whole line. It opened the door to a new world of possibilities: creating vibrant color with unmatched depth, using pigments imbued with the significance of fascinating origins and histories. What became Rituel de Fille grew out of a deep, devoted love for pigment, for color, and for exploration within their beloved medium of makeup.
We believe that makeup is significant. Self-adornment with pigment is one of humanity’s most ancient media, and one of our most innate creative instincts. Makeup can be one of the most direct, powerful expressions of self-identity and gender identity. It can be a conduit for joy, exploration and rebellion. It has the power to be both deeply connecting and bravely confrontational.
