Ingredient: Mica

Origin

This naturally-occurring crystal has unique light refraction qualities that can create a wide range of colors. The name was partially derived from the Latin word micare, to glitter. In formulation, it can add a glow or a stunning sparkle with greater depth than the plastic-based glitters and shimmers often found in cosmetics.

Alchemy

Mica of different particle sizes appears in our formulas, from the muted shimmer in Shadow Self Forbidden Lipstick to the sparks in Sigil Ash and Ember Eye Soot.

We source only mica that comes from ethically operated mines, without the use of any child labor.
