The Inspiration: A fold of paper. A dancing flame. A word whispered. The fruit splits open, revealing its many seeds, spilling the shade of long-aged wine.
The Color: A dramatic shade reminiscent of dried pomegranate skin. With its color composition, it contains stunning depths that will reveal themselves differently to each wearer. On those with deep complexions, Superstition applies as a brick-leaning flesh shade of beautiful nuance, an amplification of the lips’ natural color. On pale complexions, Superstition applies as a wine tone, with hints of rose and mahogany. In its pigment composition, Superstition glances at red, but does not quite touch it.

Title says it all, it’s the perfect shade of 90’s brownish bordeaux and it goes on smoothly, like all other Forbidden Lipsticks. Color is rich and opaque, one swipe will do it for this deep and dramatic color.

Some RDF colors lean more brown on me, including Superstition. I have fair skin and love the depth of RDF colors. Wish that this one had a touch more red in it to bring out more warmth. I ended up adding a lip oil to remove some of the brown and now it works well with my skin tone.

Pretty sure I’m in love with this! I don’t usually go for a red lip, I’m totally convinced it looks weird on me. However I’m super glad a snagged one of these. I love the shade and it blends perfectly with the Whitethorn Enchanted Lip Sheer, which is one of my personal favorites
