Having one in my makeup bag was not doing it, I had to have a second one I could take with me. This is the perfect color for me and the texture is just perfect. Just the right amount of pigment and a subtle spice of ginger you can smell and taste.
The color is amazing and it’s actually not sticky!
First off, the formula is great. Good smell, not sticky or tacky and actually feels like it's moisturizing my lips. Secondly, the color is my dream lip color. I have fair neutral skin and rose crush perfectly matches the deepest color of my lips, making them appear fuller without actually changing the color balance of my face. My ideal look for every day wear.
I was hoping for a sheer wash of color but the lip oil is very thick and highly pigmented. If I apply a dot or two, I can sheer it out with my finger but as is, it’s too pigmented to apply on the go or without a mirror. I can’t see myself using it very often as a result.
Both my wife and I love this as a staple in our "quick face" bags. Flattering on multiple skin tones - I'm pale cool and olive leaning and she's a light-medium warm leaning neutral and it works great on both of us. Formula is smooth, non-sticky, and lasts. Doesn't dry out either of us. Also, doesn't irritate my sensitive, allergy prone skin. Smell is pleasant and smells like ginger to me. It's the earthy smell that is more ginger essential oil, not fresh ginger root. Highly recommend as a versatile, subtle everyday lip.
I tried this first in a sample pack, and I loved it so much that I've since ordered the full size. I'm steadily shifting all of my lip colors to be exclusively from Rituel de Fille, so for now, Dark Thorn helps me add a much-needed purple/burgundy edge to other lip colors that might initially read too warm or too pink. The added hydration is just the perfect boost to this lovely color!
