Tricky at first since no matter how thin you spread and precisely you build it on bare skin, it's going to crease. I found the best way to have this product stay in place all day is to use an eyeshadow base, powder that base and then, use the soot. It is a very beautiful and complex product I adore. I would just not bring it out on lazy make up days

I love this smoky purple shade in the outer corner or as a liner. It's perfect for a non-black, more natural but still striking look. The website photos are color accurate to me. (I'm excluding price from my review because I wouldn't pay $39 for a single shadow from any brand. I think the value of the sample size I got is definitely there and I'm grateful RDF offers that option.)

This was disappointing, the color is just a metallic dark brown, not a deep purple, and the formula is stiff and unworkable. Less blendable than either a cream or a powder and only works over a very specific primer. Even then it creased and became patchy within a couple hours.

I love the muted purple tone it's very unique, there's just something about it that works so well as a one and done or as a base color. It changes when smoked out vs packed on and you can create great dimension easily. I feel so confident and it makes my 2016 revival glam grunge goth heart happy. You can build it up to get a little more depth. Looks gorgeous even as a subtle smoked out liner. I especially love it in the summer. I've used it +30 times and I haven't even made a dent in it. Please release this shade in more formats i.e lips, cream shadows! Love it!
